Southern Boating (southernboating.com), featured EarthNC and our new Trip and Route Planning Tool in their What’s New in Electronics column in the January 2008 issue. From their lead-in -

“EarthNC tempts reluctant plotter users with simple and familiar tools. While Google’s focus has been on urban areas and dry land in general, startup software firm EarthNC Inc., headquartered in the Florida panhandle, has made a mission out of embedding quality marine information within the Google Earth experience. “

Peter Swanson, Managing Editor for Dozier’s Waterway Guide Magazine (waterwayguide.com), writes in the Fall/Winter 2008 issue -

Wow! navi-Google-gation: Just when you thought you’d heard everything about electronic chart-plotting, EarthNC enters the market with a product that allows you to overlay NOAA chart information on top of Google Earth satellite imagery. As you can see from the image, the results are impressive and useful.”

Alex Morton, reviews EarthNC Plus in the November 2007 Lattitudes and Attidues magazine. Quoting Alex -

“These boys [EarthNC] are sharp. They’ve put out a product called EarthNC Plus that overlays the NOAA charts right on Google Earth. That means that everything to be found in the charts is present. You get a satellite image, with all the goodies… They … interface easily with a GPS, and the products are well built and already tough enough for real-time use.”

Frank Taylor, an avid sailor and driving force behind Google Earth Blog (gearthblog.com) writes about using EarthNC Plus while sailing in the Virgin Islands:

The whole setup worked very well indeed! GooPs and EarthNC have not yet evolved GE into full-fledged sailing navigation software systems. But, the experience was still better in many ways than real marine systems which cost thousands of dollars.”
